Recidivism and Reentry: The Role of Individual Coping Syles

This research article seeks to identify the relationship between individual coping styles and arrest, reincarceration, or recidivism. The study utilized a cross-sectional data set collected through face-to-face interviews of adult male inmates in the state of Ohio. The findings indicate that individual coping style is related to arrest but not reincarceration. The researchers of this study constitute professors and doctoral students from the University of North Carolina and Michigan State University who specialize in criminal justice and criminology.
