Long View of Ex-Prisoners Finds 83% Recidivism Rate (2018)

The Crime Report -

A report examining the re-offending pattern of former prisoners in the span of a 9 year period. 67,966 prisoners were randomly sampled from prisoner records obtained from the state department of corrections across 30 states from 2005 to 2014. Study found 83% of prisoners were arrested at least once during the 9 years following their release of which, property offenders were more likely to reoffend than violent offenders.
