Presley Center of Crime & Justice Studies

The UCR Presley Center of Crime & Justice Studies hosted a research roundtable with community stakeholders interested in employment opportunities for our region’s formerly incarcerated population. They presented findings from their mixed-methods study on Riverside and San Bernardino counties’ employers—including the overall willingness to hire justice-involved populations, the hard and soft skills they desire in applicants, how and when they use background checks, and their general compliance with the California Fair Chance Act (2018), among other topics—followed by an audience-driven Q&A and discussion.
